We are a small hobby kennel located in the thumb area of Michigan. We live on a large farm where the dogs get their exercise by running and playing with each other on our property (supervised of course). We have 4 children ranging in age from 21 years to 4 years.
We have been active in conformation in AKC since 1989. I took a break due to the birth of our youngest son but we are now showing actively again. We recently started showing in UKC events where we received our first Best In Multi Breed Show.
We may have 1-2 litters a year. We believe that the temperament of our lovely breed is one of the most important things and do everything possible to raise dogs that can go from our home to yours without any issues.
Our dogs are a part of our family. The pups are born and raised in our living room where they are taught that noises and movement are a part of life. They grow up used to.... vacuums, phones ringing, tv's blaring, doors slamming, guitars, drums, sound systems, motor cycles, strollers, RC cars, bikes, and children interacting with them.. We believe in the "Rules of Seven" for socializing puppies in order to make them good family members and good members of society.
Our foundation is a combination of Lynnlea and Karmuns with Ozark Crest.
My former background was in livestock and showing Dairy Goats. A lot of what I learned in that venue has carried over to showing and breeding shelties. I want to thank my mentor and very good friend Mr. Joseph Brant for showing me how my livestock knowledge DID give me an advantage with the dogs. Joe gave me the confidence to believe in myself and what I was doing and for that I will always be grateful. :-) Thanks for being my friend.
