Warning!   Painter Beware!  Warning!

Avoid Problems or Law Suits!
 Don't take Unnecessary Risks!

Face Paints!

Please! Use only  Theatrical Face and Body Paints. Some paints being used at fairs and festivals are craft products and not meant for use on skin.  Many contain harmful radioactive chemicals that can cause skin problems. These craft products are both cheap and available anywhere.   Many painters tell me that these craft products are non-toxic, washable and water-based. Wall paint is also non-toxic washable and water-based but you wouldn't paint children's skin with it.  Would you??  Only irresponsible painters would use them as a face painting product.

Glitzy Glitters!

Not all glitters are made to use on skin.  Do not assume that because some glitters are of a very fine grain that they are reliable for use on skin.  Glitters are made from various materials such as crushed Fish Scales, fine bits of Mylar, Tinsel, Polyester, Aluminum and Metallic flakes. Choose your brand carefully, only use Theatrical body glitter purchased from a reputable dealer.

Jazzy Jewels!  Sparkling Sequins! Fancy Feathers!

Common sense tells us these items could cause problems when used on young children. Children may put them in their mouths and even swallow them. Some craft jewels have a metal alloy on the back, just another possible cause for allergic skin reactions. Use with caution!

Glues!

Go to a reputable dealer for special adhesives for use on skin. Even they may cause reactions on some individuals. Many jewels, sequins etc. will adhere to the wet face paint, omitting the need for adhesives.

Rubber Stamps!

Great idea! if that is your forte. Be sure of the ink you use. Once again I state buy from a reputable dealer. Do not use markers, pens, fabric paints or regular ink pads.

Insurance!

You bet yah! It is for your own protection! As responsible as you are, there may still be someone who will find a reason to sue you. A little spent now could save you a bundle later if your sued!

BETTER SAFE THAN SORRY!
