ARTIST STATEMENT 

My interest in art started as a young child. My 5^th grade art teacher recognized a burgeoning talent and encouraged me  in that direction. I remain dedicated to my art today. 

My main enjoyment is sculpture. I’m taken with the human form and mind.

The many complexities that exist between people such as compassion and intimacy make them subjects for my three dimensional figures. 

I also enjoy painting (mix media), portraits, and musical compositions. Musicians have many arrangements that produce different sounds with different types of instruments (string and brass) and I enjoy portraying these visually in a two-dimensional form. 

In this world of violence, cruelty and abuse, I visualize the positive side of relationships and emphasize this connection that unites us as human beings.
