About Serenity Acres
I've been in the training business since 1979. Just starting out I only had two horses the first year. The second year there were four and each year after that the number has increased until at one point I had over thirty horses that I started under saddle. Every year since, I've been kept busy starting and finishing or fixing flaws in training on many, many horses. Serenity Acres Training Facility is located approximately four miles SW of Yale, Michigan. Our farm is over 100 years old and has been in the same family for all this time. Along with our horse training we are also a dairy farm and we grow our own hay, oats, corn and straw. There's always something going on at Serenity. In the Spring of 2000 we were able to put up a 60' x 60' indoor riding arean with a 20' x 60' leanto on its west side. This leanto houses 5 large box stalls and a small tack and storage area. All of our training horses stay in the new barn while my own and a few boarders' horses remain in the ' Old Family Barn ' .  It's a great place to have your horse started because they not only ride indoors but also learn about being near many other animals and people. They also spend time riding the roads and crosscountry to round out their training experience. They experience life instead of being sheltered from it.
